Hi all. Just some general notes:
1. Since I bombard you with mael all week, I've
decided to give you the
weekend off.
2. The "problem" is NOT Nancy! She is as reputable a source as I have ever
dealt
with.
3. Personal note to George Bielinski: "George, you are a legend!"
4. Apologies to Keli and A to L on AOL
for the delay with YM #104.
5. Alicia: Our Radio One tapes came in this morning!
6. The YOGMAEL Honours ballot will be
accompanying this mael.
AND AWAY WE GO...

Dear George & Amanda
Here at aegean we
were not aware of the YOGMÆL newsletter, but now we
are we find it an interesting concept, if you could mail us the last six
(or
more) newsletters you put out we and I'm sure George would love to
read them.
We hope you like our site and any comments or
suggestions from
yourselves would be greatly appreciated.
Keep up the good work
Elliott
(My ETERNAL thanks to
George B. for making this possible! Mr. Michael can
expect to read some YOGMAEL very shortly...I think an all-nighter to put
together
the Best of YOGMAEL is in order. AG)

Hi
everybody Yogfans!
Some days ago I saw an interview and an Unplugged special on an Italian
TV Station (Italia 1). George was
dubbed, but I traslate for you everything
he told to the journalist (they never framed him or her).
Sorry if my english is not
perfect, but I did my best and I know you'll
understand what George wanted to say.
(I spent a little while doing some
tweaking, so I think it should be fine.
AG)
About Careless Whispers...
It's a problem for me to sing "Careless
Whisper" because, although it's
been a great success, it never said anything to me, unlike other covers
which when I sing
them I think: 'Ah! That's a really good song!'
About videos...
I very much liked the return to making videos, also because
I found myself
beside very professional people in this field and it's been wonderful to work
with them. Moreover they allowed
me to win the MTV Europe International
Viewers Choice Award in New York with 'FastLove' video.
About Fony...
I for one
like to have everything under control, and seeing as it's my
career, and it's been a continuous success, I never realized I had
no right
to
do as I chose. But when things got worse, after the Faith affair for
example,
when I felt confused and
unhappy, then I said to myself: "I haven't a say in
the
matter, here". So I thought to make this decision. I felt
unsatisfied with
the
way Sony was concerned with LWP, and how it treated me as artist in general.
In particular in US there
was a door that was suddenly shut to me, and this
was
the heart of the matter. Of course people will have said: "What
does he
want?
He doesn't grant interviews, he doesn't want to make videos and then he
complains if his record company
doesn't drive a little his album". But if
you look
at all of that from another point of view be sure that it isn't so:
the truth
is really
different."
About writing song...
A person writes what he feels. I've never thought to write
universal music,
for everybody; I've tried to make albums which could be listened from the
begining to the end. I try to make
the best album I can. I'll never do an
album
just to satisfy others' taste. The day I'll do that will be the day I'll
start
to write
trash. In my songs I pursue the beauty and the truth. I'm not able to be
rude.
I can't write songs that need a
contest to be lived. I don't care about
writing
songs that will say nothing at all in 15 years.
About Unplugged
performance...
I was longing to do something to thank the european public and at the same
time I wanted to do something for US
to make everybody ***************************

Hi
Amanda and Yoggers!! (Or Yogelings..the U2 mailing list, Wire, calls
all its subscribers Wirelings..hehehe..this makes us
Yogmaelings...somehow,
it doesn't sound quite as good, does it? *grin*)
(No, it does not. I guess we can merely remain the
YM family, or perhaps,
for those of you who are familiar with Wham! In China, we can refer to
ourselves as "the camera
crew"? AG)
Somebody asked for the lyrics to "I Can't Make You Love Me"..here they are,
off the top of my
head..forgive any missing info/bad sections/etc :
I CAN'T MAKE YOU LOVE ME
Turn down the lights, turn down the bed
Turn
down these voices inside my head
Lay down with me, tell me no lies
Just hold me close, don't patronize
Don't patronize me
'Cause
I can't make you love me If you don't
You can't make your heart feel something it won't
Here in the dark in these final hours
I
will lay down my heart, and I'll feel the power
But you won't, no you won't
And I can't make you love me
If you don't
I'll
close my eyes and then I won't see
The love you do not feel, when you're holding me
Morning will come, and I'll do what's
right
Just give me til then, to give up this fight
And I will give up this fight
And I can't make you love me if you
don't
You can't make your heart feel something it won't
And here in the dark in these lonely hours
I will lay down my heart
and I'll feel the power
But you won't, no, you won't
And I can't make you love me
If you don't.
Ain't no use in you
trying
It's no good for me baby without love
All my tears, all these years, everything I believed in
Baby
Remember
this was written totally off the top of my head, I can't find my
old tape with this song and the computer is nowhere near the
television and
vcr. *smile*, so if I'm missing stuff, feel free to point it out!
(I went back and fine tuned it to match
the lyrics on the EP. Hope that
helps some. AG)
BTW..MuchMusic will air The 1997 Brit Awards on March 20th, according to
Fax
from a few weeks ago. I'm not sure at what time, though..check your
local listings when you get the TV Guide for that week, ok?
(Very
nice to hear! AG)
I found some info on the Milia conferrence during which the Aegean site was
opened. If you go to this
url:
http://www.reedmidem.milia.com./live/index.html you should be able to find
not only information on the short "press
conferrence" that George did, but
also you'll be able to see some pictures from the conferrence. They aren't
the best
piccies of Mr. Velvet Voice, and he did wear black (shocking! I
know..;-O) but at least they are the latest piccies we have of
him (only 8
days old as I type this). When you get to the site, you have to pick from
one of the four categories listed at the
side of the page (Conferences,
News, On Air, Tomorrow). Pick News. Then scroll down the News page and
once you get to a purple
"Georges Michael sur la croissette", click on it
and voilà! You're there. Now, the text is in French, but the quote
from
George isn't.
I've roughly just transcribed the text for you from French to English ( I
do apologize for any
mistakes):
George
Michael on the {now I haven't a clue what "croisette" means, even my
trusty Robert MicroPoche couldn't help
me...anybody know? the closest I
got was a crossing or something to do with crossing or croses, etc.}
The British singer
appeared yesterday {aaawww..isn't he just great? :o)}
Sorry for such a long post, but I thought it was fairly important.

Hi
there everybody!!
The reason I'me here is that I've just read the english translation of
Desafinado in one of the Yogmael
issues , and I must tell you it sounds very nice
indeed, BUT, it has nothing to do with the portuguese version, It sort of
changes the
meaning a bit. So to whoever I sent my translation, I'm sure you've realised
it's very different-it;s a direct
translation.
(That's often the way translations work. AG)
I also wanted to share with you a peace of news about yog :
Yesterday
(10 feb.) there was this article about george in a magazine. You
all know how generous he is, well they've found out that yog
takes food,
every
week, to one of those houses that feed the poor. He gives them food and talks
to them about their
problems, but he never admits he's George Michael.
Whenever they ask him if he really is george he just smiles.
Isn't this
just great!!
He really is very generous!!!
(Good lad George! AG)
Maybe later I can type some extracts of the article
Well,
that's all for now folks
HEAR FROM YOU SOON

Hi Amanda and fellow Yoggers,
I checked out the new GM
site (Aegean), its FAB-U-LOUS!!! I didn't
expect to find it operating. Mind you, I'm in my school computer lab and
everyone's
trying to talk to me, then 'The Site' begins. I'm really
happy that George acknowledges his fans. I was beginning to think he
forgot
about the little people. I think I insulted some friends, but I
stressed the fact that "No one can have my complete and
divided attention
when their going up against George, NO ONE." I think they'll get over it!
(I have just plain told
people "F*CK OFF, it's a George thing OK?" My close
friends
have learned to deal with my George fits though. AG)
"How
much is enough.." (Well when it comes to George, I think I can
speak for many Yoggers, we can never get enough)
Enjoy
the new site, and don't forget about the dedicated site(YOGMAEL)!

Hello to all fans,
This one's
just to let you know that the following CD is available :
George Michael - Unplugged
label : Moonraker 212
recorded at
Three Mills Studios, London
October 11th, 1996
1 Freedom< the time (and a lot of
time it was too) to transcribe that
Listen Without Prejudice interview. It
was the best I've ever read. Brings it all in further perspective - his way
of thinking
and expressing himself is clarity itself. Thanks again - it was
the best! Caroly
