Hi all! Today is the equivilent of Christmas Day in the Gardonyi household,
which
is why I'm really compiling this list Monday afternoon.
I opened a couple of gifts on Sunday, and I was pleased to find
albums--real
vinyl--from a couple of friends. IN addition to Older and Fantastic, I now
own Make it Big and Faith. I guess I
have to finish the collection somehow
now.
AND AWAY WE GO...

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a
peripheral was stirring, not even a mouse.
The modem was plugged to the phone line with care
In hopes that a download soon
would be there.
Our pirates were nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of unprotects danced in their heads.
And
Mama in her kerchief, and I in my cap
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap.
When up on the hard drive there arose
such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the monitor I flew like a flash,
Sat down at the
keyboard, gave the spacebar a mash.
The sight on the screen, all a'flicker with snow,
Gave the luster of power surge to the
menu below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But an autoexec.bat that seemed rather queer.
With a little
print driver so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment I had seen a new trick.
More rapid than eagles the cursors they came;
My
MIDI whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
"Now Format, now Rename, now Copy, and Enter!
On Num Lock, on
Caps Lock, on Scroll Lock, and Printer!
"To the top of the page, to the top of the doc,
Now tab it and bold it and merge
it and block!"
As utilities that build up the CPU speed
Clash with just the programs I need,
So up to the screen
top the cursors they flew,
With a RAM full of memory and an expansion board too.
And then, in a twinkling I heard on the
speaker,
The grinding of the hard drive growing much weaker.
As I tried to reboot and turn it around,
The attributes
changed from blue into brown.
I hit the control, the alt, and delete.
The screen message it gave me, I cannot repeat.
It
asked me to Ignore, Retry, or Abort.
It told me the parallel had become the comm port.
Its lights how they twinkled; its
pixels how merry,
Its prompts were all scrambled, like a bowl full of cherries.
It sounded just like it wanted to blow;
The
screen was suddenly white as the snow.
It scrolled its directory before my eyes
With programs I didn't even recognize.
It
wouldn't see D:, it wouldn't see E:;
I couldn't get out of B: into C:.
Norton's tried to read it, finally finding the FAT;
But
alas! The disk was faulty, and couldn't reformat.
Away flew the DBase; away flew the DOS-es;
Away flew the WordStar; right out
with the Windows.
The spreadsheets were spreading; the footers were headings;
What once had been memory was close to
forgetting.
When the grinding was over and the smoke had all cleared,
I looked at the hard drive; it was just as I feared.
The
600 meg wonder had crashed in the night;
I'll never be able to block out that sight!
So tell everyone you know to avoid my
plight;
Back up your files! Merry Christmas! Good Night!

HI AG. 12/20/96
I really loved watching the George
Michael Unplugged and he did a
great job. I am so proud to say that the man is back and ready to go
and show his talents
again. It's just too bad that he will not be
releasing the compact disc or video to the unplugged, because I
believe it would
be a very big seller in the U.S and abroad. I did end
up videotaping it and I watch it over and over and it just drives my
roommate
crazy because he is not really a George Michael Fan but he
does love the way he sang "I Can't Make You Love Me". I
really thought
that was the best song of the unplugged and I really would have loved
to see the other songs he sang that were
not shown. I believe it was a
two hour show. Well, hopefully he will change his mind and release the
unplugged. That would be
great.
(I'm sure the decision not to release was not his to make. AG)
Sorry about not posting any earlier but the
holidays are
approaching very fast and I still have so much to do and really have
been busy at work. I would like to wish you
and all of the Yog Fans
out there a very Merry Christmas and A Very Happy New Year Too. May 97
be our year for an awesome
George Michael Tour. We are way past
overdue for one and I really can't wait.
Good Night and take

I would also like to know if there is a place I can order George Michael

What was he referring to when he said that, and why is it so significant to
you,
Amanda?
(As I do recall, he was insulting his then manager Rob Kahane. Here's the
scenario: Recall the line "You're
such a, you're such a" in Too Funky. Rob
asks him what he meant. "You're such a fucking pain in the arse is what I
edited
out" George tell him. "You weren't referring to me" Rob asks. "Never
state" said George "What you
can't imply." Why is it so significant to me
Jo? If I told you, I'd have to kill you... AG)

Hi there yall! :-)
Ok..I saw IT last night and
well, what can I say, I must share my thoughts
with...ummm..about, what is that, Amanda, 200 folks? Call me shy. ;o)
(350
actually. AG)
Well, he looked BRILLIANT...(or as my friend would put it, droolworthy). And
his voice was GREAT, however,
had he stood up, I think he would have sounded
much more powerful. But such is life, and I thought the show was TO DIE
FOR!!!!
I
loved every single song he sang (even Father Figure, even though it's one
of my least faves *ducking*). "ICMYLM" caused
about 5 million shivers to run
up and down my body and "YHBL" made me quite emotional. I must, however,
disagree
with someone here (I believe it was you, Amanda) who said that the
new version of "ESW" is not as good as the old one.
I found this one much,
much better...no more "aaah-aaah- too-doo-doo" or whatever. I love it!!!
It's terribly good!
(It
was I, but then I found myself singing the new chorus for 48 solid hours,
and I think I honestly like it now. AG)
Hmmm..what
else is there...oh, I loved Shirley...she's such a sweetie. And
I'm very glad that Jay#1 and Jay#2 are still with him, as is Ola
and Katie
and Sharon. It's super good to see him hang on to such obvious talent! And
of course, Hugh Burns and Chris Cameron
and Danny Cummings have been with him
at least since "Faith".
(You know about the Jay#1 and Jay#2 thing? Cool!
Was it just me, or was
Jay#1 seriously playing to the cameras! Hugh and Danny have been around
since Wham! AG)
Would
have loved to have been there, even as the dirt beneath George's feet
(and I must agree with Strange's posting from a while back
on the DC board
that the bopping up and down of his feet and his desperate attempts to dance
while sitting down were quite
comical!!).
(I totally agree! AG)
Would have loved more shots of the audience to play "spot the
Panos/Panyiotou
family" game (as my friend called it). All in all, an
EXCELLENT show!!
(I think I saw some people who resembled them
during Praying for Time. AG)
Alrighty, enough of my yabbing! Hope you all enjoyed it as well!
Hugs
Kinga

Hello
A G
I just heard a jazzy version of Fastlove on the radio. It's kinda slow and
very jazzy with the sax and all. Anyone know
what Mix is this called? If u
haven't heard of it yet, maybe I can record it to my PC and email the file to
u if u want. But
the problem is that I don't know how to do it yet ( if it is
possible to do it through the mike). Just mail me okay?
(This
is the FastLove Summer Mix, from the DreamWorks single of FastLove, and
it's the same one he did for the Unplugged. You can
record it to a file, but
it would eat a hell of a lot of time to up and download. AG)
And i just read in a magazine that a
freelance write asked GM for an
autograph in Paris during the launch of Older there. The guy asked GM to sign
"Darling
George" but Yog declined and said, "you might hold it against me
later" and signed a simple "Love
George". So maybe its true Yog has been
waiting for the news to come out sooner or later ( The Big Issue).
(OK, I'm
confused, how does a "Love George" mean he's come out, even though
he pretty much has...As I hear, that's just the way
he signs his autographs.
AG)
And can anyone tell me when is the next sigle out? And which one will it be?
I hope it's
OLder cos I luv that song.
(It will be Older in the UK, and the release date is....hmmm....um help! AG)
Anyway, thats
all. Bye.

About those people who are so rude when they leave
- I call them spoilers.
They can be found everywhere in life - they exist to criticize, belittle,
harp and ruin whatever is
making other people happy. I avoid them at all
costs but online it is not quite as easy. Just be glad you're not one and if
you
don't respond to them they disappear real fast, searching for someone to
get attention from. They think everything is made for
them and must gratify
their own personal need - but don't seem to know what that need is. They are
miserable - addicted to the
high they get off putting others down. In school
they are popular - because it is cool to make fun - but later on when we
start
to find our own levels of comraderie and interests and peer pressure is
not a driving force, they can't find a niche - except to
bitch at those who
have. Ignore them and they'll go away - pity them - for they are angry and
vengful. Amen.

John Popper and Busta Rhymes Are Among Musician Guests Who Discuss The Year
In Music
"MTV
News Presents...," the new weekly showcase for MTV News
special programming, will debut the series' first roundtable
discussion on
Sunday, Dec. 29 at 10:30PM (ET/PT).
Moderated by MTV News anchor Kurt Loder, the theme of the first

will be the year in music. Loder will be joined by special guests
John Popper of Blues Traveler, rapper Busta Rhymes, music
critic Karen
Schoemer of Newsweek, and Adario Strange, executive editor of The Source.
Topics discussed include Tupac Skakur
and the impact of his death
on his fans and the music industry, the aborted reunion of Van Halen, the
status of alternative
music, and a final wrap up on the most (and least)
successful albums of the year. The panel argues whether or not alternative
music
is alive and well, with the rise of such bands as Bush. Also discussed
are some of the artists who have gone head to head with
their record label,
including George Michael and his lawsuit with Sony, and the Artist Formerly
