YOU'VE GOT YOGMAIL!!

YOU'VE GOT YOGMAIL!! Hey all! As I hope you now know, I'm back! Anyone not having received the e mail titled "I'm Back", please let me know so I can send you a copy.

Notes:
1. Latest member count it is 254 people. That means I've hit my second goal. Now as per Frank's suggestion, I guess I'll go for 1000. Still 250 plus people is enough that the list now will have to go out in various editions--with around 50 people per list. As of tonight there will be 6 with all containing the same info. It's the only way to accomodate all the people with my wimpy AOL software. There are better mail programs out there, but to get them would cost me $, which I quite frankly don't have right now. Maybe I should organize YOGMAIL-AID? Hmmmm....
2. It's gonna take me a while to get all caught up with this mail, so please be patient.
3. New members: PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO ALL, send all postings to me at Yog88-at-aol.com for publication.

AND AWAY WE GO...

"In the absense of security..."

AG rambles:

So a while back Dawn asked about what the DHSS in the Wham! Rap meant, and a fair number of you informed me it meant Department of Health and Social Services, which I shared with you all. I was then told I was wrong, it actually means Department of Health and Social Security. The problem was, about 10 of you told me it was Services, while those of you from the UK told me it was Security, and after seeing 3 that said Services, I guess my critical reading skills failed me.

So anyway Dawn to accurately answer your question, yes there is a Santa Claus! Oops, wrong question...well wait, George is talking to the press again, so maybe that makes sense... But seriously DHSS stands for DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL SECURITY.

Donna? Call you Donna? I'm lost.

(It's a term in my vocabulary that I take for granted, forgetting that maybe 6 people in my inner circle know what it means. But to answer the question, to say "Call me Donna" is the same as saying "call me stupid". The derivation of this term will remain a secret to protect the guilty... AG)

George Michfl chat room: Only on AOhelL? Will there be another on the WWW for those of us who can find what we need for ourselves. It just seems that AOL is spoon-fed and I've been trying to rid myself of all of that. AOhelL is user friendly, but it also doesn't encourage user intelligence. Knowledge is power. Sorry, fairly un-Yog-related. CHAT on WWW?

(Sorry, yes the chat I advertised and then didn't get to was for the AOL crew only. I for one love AOL, and owe to it a number of great friendships, and you guys all owe AOL for YOGMAIL. I like the spoon fed user stupid simplicity of it, a hell of a lot better than I did the pain in the ass I knew as Prodigy, or the poor excuses for servers I have seen locally. I'm a sell out what can I say? Anyone wanted WWW chat, you can set one up, and I'll be happy to get the word out for you. AG)

I have been a big George Michael's fan for many years. I was tuned out of the music news for awhile, and I would like to catch up on George Michael's. Your home page has been very informative. It's great to know that he still has a huge following. I do have one question is he still with Kathy? Thanks for any info.

(Great to have you onboard! But once more, it's not my homepage, it's Tim's. Is he still with Kathy? Nope, well at least not to the best of any of our knowledge. They were sighted together at some point in 1992 however. AG)

ARGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!. WHat is happening with the integrity of music???.
First was Take T

After East17, and now the ex singer of Take These Robin Williams singing Freedom!!!!. And the best part is that (and I heard it from the Radio DJ) GM is in the production of the song :-((( (I personally don't want to say that's true). Why has to appear on the Video Clip Robbie making nonsense movements and showing his "beautiful" body along the video clip???. It was just a comment.

(I have no idea why Robbie would even attempt to cover that one, it just seems too personal to cover. God I hope George didn't help him out any... AG)

Another thing. Are the songs of ListenWP Vol. II on any pirate CD??? or there are some of them on OLder?.

(LWP v.II was said to include new tracks and some live covers. The live covers George has been using as B sides for years now--they were taken from the Cover to Cover tour. The "new" tracks were also some B sides George has used on and off, I do believe he also used a few on Red Hot and Dance. According to his publisher Dick Leahy, all the songs on Older were written after the court case. AG)

(You'll be hearing from me in the next few weeks about what I could use... As for the duet with Paul Young, I highly recommend it, check out George performing for royalty while drunk. AG)

Keep up the good work !!

Incidently. Good comment "I think, therefore I'm single"

George said the same !!

HI AG,
WELL, THE US IS FINALLY HIP WITH GEORGE MICHAEL BUT ONLY PARTIALLY. THE REASON WHY I SAY THIS IS BECAUSE I JUST BOUGHT STW ON VINYL AND IT'S FROM THE U.S.A. IT HAS THE FOLLOWING ON THE 12":

A1 STW FORTHRIGHT CLUB MIX
A2 STW DUB
A3 STW JON DOUGLAS REMIX
A4 STW FORTHRIGHT EDIT
I BOUGHT IT AT TOWER RECORDS ON FRIDAY AND IT ONLY COST $5.44 I THOUGHT ALL OF YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THIS INFORMATION WHO STILL REALLY APPRECIATE VINYL. SO GO OUT AND GET YOURS TODAY.
ALWAYS AND FOREVER A GEORGE M FAN,
FRANK REYES

(I saw the vinyl in a record shop last Thursday, and would have bought it, but had no cash on me, and I don't even have a record player so it would have been pointless. Does anyone know if I can get the same mixes on CD? IF not, who feels like dubbing for me? AG)

"I just want you to know..."

AG rambles:

Having decided to cut my 3:30pm class last Thursday and leave right after my 12:30pm, I went to the downtown core of Hamilton Ontario with a few pals from class. We prowled the record shops of course. The first one we walk into is playing the Older album as usual, and one of the ladies, not knowing of my love of George, comments on how much she loves the album, and tells her friend she should get one! I encourage whole-heartedly, and finally forced her to grab one at the import/used shop a while later. As we parted company for the afternoon, I offered her a money back guarantee, but I cut class yesterday so I have no idea whether or not I owe her money yet... IF I do, please send your donations to We Love George A Whole Lot...

I'm posting today because I have some troubles to e-mail RICHARD SHOUCAIR, who wants me to get the STW EP. I don't know what the hell is going on with this thing, but I just can't answer him. So, please, Richard, e-mail me. STW is 7 US dollars and I think the postage (is that the write word? I don't speak English) must be 3 or 4 dollars.

(RICHARD!!! AG)

Other point. Could anaybody help me to ge all thos B side singles? I mean, Crazy man dance, If you were my woman, Tonight and so on. I just can't get old singles from here, so I will pay to anyone who can help me.

(I'll be posting my list in todays YM, read on, pick and choose and let me know. AG)

And finally, I know most of you must feel the same as me, but i have to say this: George Michael is by far (very, very far) the best songwriter I have ever known. 1996 has been a specially difficult and sad year for me, but each and avery single song of any of his album has been a hope. I just can't explain what I feel. My grandmather has recently died (just a monthe ago). She was 75 but she liked FASTLOVE (!!!), so now YOU HAVE BEEN LOVED and JESUS TO A CHILD are just parts of me. Sorry, I know it is too dark and sad, but I just felt you, my YOG partners should know.

(I know LWP helped me deal with a few demons... I'm happy to hear George was able to help you out too. AG)

Lemme know and it won't be a prob at all.:))) Just e-mail, or holler, or call, or write, whichever way you prefer. (I'm easier to reach by e-mail, though, if ya want a hint! ;))

(OK, just need $ now, anyway yeah I posted in a YM that I need one of the CD's. I bought the EP, but need the single. More on this in a personal note later. AG)

Oh, and if anyone else wants them, lemme know...I will find them!!!
(Speaking of this, I just came across a cache of DreamWorks released FastLove CD singles in a local record store, they just got them in while ago, I got mine back when it was released elsewhere. Anyone interested? The track listing is FastLove--full version, I'm Your Man '96, and FastLove--Summer Mix. Let me know. AG)

Hi Amanda!

I was reading Saturday's Yogmail and asweet-at-beta.loyno.edu wrote to say that she had just gotten her second 1997 GM calendar & you wanted to know where to get it. I ran across it at CDNOW. They list both of them for 1997. I couldn't deceide which to buy so Alexandra answered that one for me.

Go to www.cdnow.com to place your order. It is going to cost me almost $17.00 US dollars. Hey, but what is money when it comes to George??

(An endless abyss I've found... AG)

I had to use my credit card but a good friend of mine told me not to worry about it because I am using Netscape & the secure mode. Hope this is correct or someone will be having a good time. Any thoughts as to whether this was the dumbest thing I have ever done or not?

(I have no idea, I have yet to order something online, and the only company with my credit card # is AOL. AG)

Well, I guess I'll just have to have "Faith"
