HI AMANDA,
(Hi Frank! AG)
WELL,
THIS IS IN RESPONSE TO GEORGE'S SEXUALITY! WHO CARES IFHE IS GAY OR NOT AS LONG AS HE IS HAPPY AND LIVES HIS LIFE WITHOUTBEING
CONFUSED. ONLY HE KNOWS HIS SEXUALITY AND WILL ONLY SHARE IT WITH THEPERSON WHO HE WANTS TO BE WITH. I HATE PUTTING LABELS ON PEOPLE
WHO DON'TWANT TO HAVE LABELS TO BEGIN WITH OR JUST TO BE REALLY NOSEY ABOUT SOMEONE'SPERSONAL LIFE. SO I REALLY HAVE TO AGREE WITH
YOU AND CHRISTINE ON THIS ONE.
(Why thank you! I hope this can put to rest these questions in futureissues. No one seems to
want to discuss them, except to say it doesn'tmatter and why talk about it. AG)
I WOULD ALSO LOVE TO GET DEON ESTUS CD
BECAUSE I MISSED OUT ONBUYING IT WHEN IT WAS RELEASED AND I DON'T REMEMBER WHY I MISSED IT. I WILL ALSO LOOK IN THE CLEARANCE
SECTION AT ALL OF THE RECORDSTORES AND TO SEE IF I CAN FIND IT.
(I have been told by Brent you can get it at the following
site: http://www.musiccentral.msn.com/ AG)
IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE I AM WRITING FROM, I AMWRITING FROM WORK OUT IN
PASADENA AND I LOVE IT OUT HERE. NOT WORK BUT I DOLOVE THE CITY OF PASADENA AND SO ON.
(Well pop on by the DreamWorks offices
and tell them WE WANT GEORGE!!! AG)
I HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU AGAIN SOON AG. GOOD BYE!!!!! KEEP THE FAITH!
You seem sure that
Canada won't get the unplugged special. Does Canada haveMTV. If the U.S. gets it, it seems Canada would too. Also, will NorthAmerica
get it at all. It could end up on MTV Europe only. After all, it isgoing to be taped in London. That's where Gabrielle's was taped.
Her'snever aired in the U.S.
(Canada doesn't have MTV, we have MuchMusic, which is totally independent ofMTV. We'll get it 6
months after MTV. I am pretty sure MTV America will getit, and if not, make friends with someone in Europe. AG)
Also, on the
same subject, if it does air in U.S., will it be repeated amillion times like every other unplugged, or will it air once, like the
GMvideo special for the premier of "Jesus To A Child"? Just something toponder, I guess.
(No idea! I would assume
it will be just like the regular Unplugged's. Someone e MTV and share the info. I elect Alicia... AG)

(RIGHT, someone find me a copy of this!!!! AG) So
that you know, it is available on the "Twelve Inch Tape" in the UK, and"The Best Remixes" CD from japan. Also,
the fully extended mix of Fastlove is pretty cool. The music is mixeda lot better IMO and the ending has lots of extra lyrics, and
eventually turns intothe first half of "I'm Your Man 96". I really enjoy the "Fastlove" part of it, but Inever
did like the "I'm Your Man 96" so generally speaking it is OK, but it isdefinitely worth checking out...the first three
verses and two choruses are pretty much thesame as the album though.
(Still waiting on word to get mine... AG)
I have
so much George Michael and WHAM! stuff that I don't even know whereto begin to tell you guys about it...there will be a complete
list of everyWHAM! and George remix on my web page, and in fact, the WHAM! list iscompleted right now if you want to check it out,
though the pics are messedup and won't even be the same pics in a few weeks. The addie is
http://charm.cs.uiuc.edu/~jyelon/lion/gm.htmlso far there is a link to Yogmail and to Tim's page and to the WHAM!list...anything
else on there probably isn't working yet, but I'm working like a dog to getit done.
(I checked it out this weekend, it's
great Josh!!! Thanks for the YM link!! Everyone go and take a look. AG)
Speaking of working on a dog... Great job Amanda!
We should all thank our lucky stars that you take somuch time and put it into this fantastic newsletter. And on that note, letus all
bow our heads in a moment of silence.
(Josh, how did you know just what I needed tonight? You are my forever in myheart now,
and maybe in my will too... AG)
Yours, Josh Still looking for some affirmation... "And
who gives a F***..."
As for the concern of GM's
sexuality, I just want to say that I don't reallycare what his preference is. Elton John is my favorite singer, and if youdon't
already know, he is a homosexual, and it never bothered me. And itnever will. Also other thing I just noticed- George Michael sang
on two 1985Elton John songs found on Elton's "Ice on Fire" album. He sings a duet withhim on "Wrap Her Up" and
"Nikita". If anyone wants a copy without going outto buy one, you can email me (wcannon-at-linknet.kitsap.lib.wa.us) and
I'll setyou up with a copy on a 90 minute tape, of the two songs for $3--I buy thetape and pay the postage. Later...
(NO
WAY? Elton John's gay???!!! > AG)

My friend Laura (who I met through the
George Michael Fan Club and is one ofmy very best friends), and I met George the night he was to receive thee GoldenNote for
songwriting (given by ASCAP)! We were lucky enough to be told thelocation of the event (a restaurant in Beverly Hills called Bice),
as well asbeing the only fans to show up (aside from a few photographers).
We arrived a few minutes before George did. We saw
Deon Estus, BernieTaupin, and George's then manager Rob Kahane, arrive and enter therestaurant. Then George pulled up in a black
limo with Kathy Yeung. Georgewas dressed in a very nice black Armani suit. We called his name as he walkedup and he waved to Laura
and I. Laura and I were then interviewed on cameraby ASCAP.
As the night progressed, George's personal assistant exited the
restaurantand said George wanted to know if we wanted him to sign anything. We each gavehis personal assistant a few photos as well
as a gold pen which she remarked wereGeorge's favor flight froma vacation in Hawaii. George arrived with his friend Anselmo, and
hismanager Rob Kahane was present to pick the both of them up.
George was wearing black shorts, a white shirt, and a black
baseball cap. Hewas extrmely tan. Anselmo was dressed in blue jeans and a white shirt (fromwhat I remember!). As George exited the
terminal from United Airlines, wewent up to him and asked for a moment of his time. He said "of course", andthen added
"I must take off my hat since I am in the presence of ladies." (Inearly died at that point!). George autographed my Bare
book and Laura's CTCtour program. We spoke for a few moments, and asked him how Hawaii was. Hewas very friendly, and we got our
photo taken with him. We then thanked himand parted ways as he and Anselmo went to collect their luggage.

This
was the best meeting of all. It had been the evening of the CommitmentTo Life Aids Benefit Concert in Los Angeles. Earlier that
evening, Georgehad sung "Baby Can I Hold You Tonight," as well as "Don't Let The Sun Go DownOn Me" with Elton
John onstage at the Universal Amphitheater.
After the concert, my finance Patrick and I decided to drive down SunsetBlvd. to
grab a bite to eat. As we drove down Sunset, we were driving rightin back of a black limo (we had no idea at the time that George
and hiscousin Andros were in that limo!!!). We stopped at a red light, but the limopulled forward, and pulled over right in front of
a spirits shop. We thensaw George and Andros exit the limo and go inside the shop (talk aboutincredible luck that I never thought
would happen to me). Patrickimmediately encouraged me to pull over and go inside the shop as well. As weentered the shop, George and
Andros were choosing from an assortment ofalcoholic beverages. As George approached the cash register, I approachedhim and said that
we were just at the show, and would be mind signing myprogram from that evening (I could kill myself for not having my camera or
aGeorge items, but I never expected this to happen!). He said "Sure", andtook my pen. He signed my program "To Nancy,
love George Michael XXX". Heasked how we liked the show, and then we chatted for a few moments about theSony court case and
Jesus To A Child. Then the best part of all, (and Icannot believe that I have enough courage to do this!), I asked George if Icould
hug him, and he said "Yes"! I then hugged him and he hugged me back!!! I thanked him for his time, and then we joined
Andros at the counter to pay for his items and we left the shop.
I just wanted to say that George is an extremely kind man!
Anyone to saysotherwise is crazy! It seems that he really knows who is fans are, anddoesn't mind to take the time to say thank you
in his own way by chatting orsigning an autograph for them.
I also wanted to take a moment to say thank you to my finance
Patrick whoalso thinks George is the coolest, and has supported my hobby over the years.
