And we have a really good issue on our hands here!!!!!
Today some details on
Waltz Away Dreaming -- I hate calling
this particular song by the anagram, somehow WAD just
seems too crass in this
instance... -- INCLUDING the AEgean
mission statement contained in the single, and some details
on the video.
Also, info
on the 1997 World Music Awards -- and you know I
never mention Awards shows that don't honour George...
Lastly, don't you
think it's time George did a US talk show?
Alex has an idea, and I think it's time we get to work....
AND AWAY WE GO...

Hi Amanda,
Remember the radio
interview on 22 May in Manchester,
UK? I had taped it but what I didn't realise is that the
show is supposed to be for 2
hours. I on the other hand
assume a 1 hour interview so I used a 90 min tape, the
rest is history....I am currently trying to
get a copy of the
whole interview from the radio station. Anyway, the interview
was very funny and GM mentioned a few things
about
touring dates.
At the moment I am having my final degree exams. so I can't
do the transcript of the interview yet.
Rest assure that by the
second week of June, a transcript will be finished.
(IT would be much appreciated, but of course,
studies first! AG)
So, that's it so far.
Alex
P.S. I am offering to make copies of the interview to anyone
willing
to pay for the postage.

Hi
everyone!!
Did anyone happen to see Rosie O'Donnell the other day when
she had Savage Garden on? (They sing "I Want
You" and they
also happen to have a British accent.) Well she was talking to
them and said "I like your George
Michael accent" and they
thanked her and talked a bit more about George and she said
she "really likes George
Michael." So I have a plan.....maybe
we could all write her a letter professing our love and admiration
for George and
ask, beg, plead with her to get him on. I know
it's a long shot, but hey, she does listen to her fans and maybe
George would
like to do a talk show....and we could all be in
the audience for it!! Just a wild idea and there's nothing like
thinking
BIG!!! If anyone is interested, just write her a letter,
I'm going to and who knows, maybe it'll work!!
(Alex and I
discussed this and we are dead serious, we are going
to beg George too. MY GOAL IS A GEORGE MICHAEL SUCK
UP DAY!!!!! Here is
the address, so let's all get to work! I plan to
rattle off a letter a day for the next week. Right to Rosie care of:

In
YM 168 (or so) there was a request for a complete GM
discography. I can try to help you out. The complete GM
Discography at
http://hem.passagen.se/psb/discographies/gm
has
just about everything. On my webpage
(http://members.aol.com/jshafer999/index.htm), I have
added a section called the Must
Haves Guide (follow the
GM link) which has a partial discography and some info.
If you decide to vote, I can only hope it
works. :)
I hope this helps!

Amanda,
I'm
putting together a discography of George's Wham and Solo
projects. Both official and bootleg. If you'd please post this in
Yogmael,
I'd appreciate it. If you guys have any bootlegs, cd's
with bonus tracks and such, I'd like you to please mail me at
USArmyDawg-at-aol.com.
I figured this to be the best place to
get help, since we are all huge George fans!!!!!! Also, once this
material is tallied,
I'm going to crerate a George Web page with
all of the material listed!!! That way we can have sorta an idea
of just what
George has out there. Thanks guys :-).

Hello Amanda and
Yogmaelites!!!
(Yogmaelites? That's a new one... AG)
Just a silly little question for a curious soul....
When
George meets someone for the first time, what name
does he give - George or Yorgos or something else? What
do his
friends/family introduce him to people as???
(I would assume George, since he hates the way most
people pronounce Georgios
-- ie. Georg-eee--os -- and that
he is known professionally as George. AG)
Just curious!
Your fan and pal,
Debbie

I have been reading Yogmael for a few months and I am
absolutely thrilled that this mailing exists. I look forward
to
reading what people around the world are saying about
George and to confirm what I have been saying for the
longest time.
George Michael is the absolute best.
Watching television last night, I saw a commercial on
Muchmusic for the World Music
Awards airing on Monday
at 8:00 p.m. Their list of performers included none other
than George Michael. I just wanted to share
this
information with everyone as a thank-you for sharing their
information with me.
Thanks,

loved the article Bev wrote
about the unplugged concert. I printed it for some of the

not hooked to the

made us smile (if not a bit green)
I've seen
the video for Waltz away Dreaming It is really
surreal flowers and people floating about in hour glasses.
But I love the
contrast in George and Toby's voices. Roll
on Monday when it's released in the UK

Waltz Away
Dreaming has been released here in the UK on
CD single and cassette and is titled as "Toby Bourke with
George
Michael" on, of course, the AEGEAN label. In
addition to Waltz, there is track 'B' - "Things I Said Tonight"
by
Toby Bourke.
Inside, on the back of a blue square paper insert is the
following statement:
"Maybe it's no more
than a dream. Perhaps the concept
of music for it's own sake, as opposed to music for the
sake of commerce, is a naive one
these days. But surely
nothing can change without belief, and the will to
influence the future in some way. As we approach the
twenty-first
century, the wheels of industry move onwards
at a frightening speed, slowly crushing many of the things
we need in favour of
those things which can be sold, and
sold easily. Music is no longer in the hands of musicians,
or even those who love
music. It struggles, as do all
creative art forms, to wrestle itself free from the arms of
lifeless businessmen, whose
favourite words all seem to
begin with the letter m.
Media. Marketing. Manufacture. Merger and of course the
biggest M
of them all, Money.
The fact that the word music also begins with the letter M
would appear to be a coincidence. Somewhere
along the
way, the music business became just that. A business.
One of the oldest and most joyous features of human life
became
a commodity, and we accepted it, along with all
the sad changes we have accepted in the second half of
this century.
Many
people believe that the millennium will bring a wind
of change, that things have gone too far, and society will
rise up
against the giants of industry to reclaim the things
they have lost. Hopefully, these things are still possible.
We believe
they are, at least some of them, and Aegean
would like to be a part, however small, of this movement.
We know that good music
may seem less important right
now than clean air, safe streets or food that won't kill you.
But surely, music feeds the soul,
and hungry souls are in
evidence all around us, don't you think?
The human soul is an amazing, inexplicable, sometimes
needy
thing. It should be treated with respect, and it has
not been. Music and musicians should be treated with
respect, and they
have not been. They deserve more.
We all deserve more.
Welcome to AEGEAN. Tuck in."
A slight dig at Fony don't
you think?
(I think George just set forth a very classy, but potentially
explosive mission statement that could very easily
blow
up in his face and reputation. But if anyone can handle
this, it's George. Good Luck George. AG)
The whole CD,
presentation etc has a very classical feel
to it. Those who see the CD will know what I mean.
George is coming to my home
town of Bristol THIS Friday
to do an interview on our local independent radio station
GWR FM on 96.3 at 3:30 pm!! AND it's
only a two minute
walk from my office!! Ha Ha!!
I'll let you all know what happens (tape it etc)
Best wishes to all
worldwide Yoggers.

Hi there !
I yesterday
(May 26th) went into a record store and wanted
to buy Waltz Away Dreaming but they have never heard of
that song !!!!!
BTW:
sorry for my last message, I mixed up the released
dates.
So does that mean that the song is REALLY released in
UK ONLY?
I mean when you guys say it“s released in
the UK it normally includes the rest of Europe too ! But
what is it this time?
(Who's
distributing the CD? Maybe they don't have one
for outside the UK. AG)
And once again : Is it released under Toby Burke“s
or
George“s name???
(Read above. AG)
Ciao

Amanda
Found in today's (24th) UK Daily
Mirror Newspaper:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GEORGE'S WEIRD £1/4 MILLION VIDEO
GEORGE MICHAEL has ditched
his usual image to record
the weirdest video of his career.
These exclusive pictures (sorry no pictures obviously -
Denise)
show him with stunning actress Kate Beckinsale,
23, in a series of surreal poses.
The brilliant £250 000 promo is for
Georges' new single
Waltz Away Dreaming - a duet with unknown singer Toby
Bourke which will be released on Monday (31st May)
in
the UK.
Earlier this year George, 33, revealed he recorded the
track as a tribute to his mother Lesley who died of
cancer
in February. He hoped it would help his father get over
the tragedy.
The video opens with an elderly man playing
with his
wedding ring as he flicks through old photos of his dead
wife. Then it moves to a fairytale and where Kate, who
starred
in EMMA (on UK TV not the film with Gwyneth
Paltrow - Denise) appears in wacky costumes. In one
scene George sings as the
actress's head and hand
emerge through the ground.
The video shows clocks going backwards and egg
timers, presumably
George wishing he had had more
time with his mum. George is also seen tapped inside
a giant magnifying glass.
Londoner
Toby, 31, was the first artist signed to
George's new record label Aegean and he will release an
album later this year.
When
Lesley died he added extra lyrics to the song and
they re-recorded it as a duet. Toby tells me: "Making
this record with
George was unbelievable".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope everything's okay with you Amanda, and keep up
the
great work - it must be getting more and more time
consuming for you as the list grows.
(All is well, speaking of
mum's, I am off work tending to mine
with the broken leg. At least she likes my cooking. And as
for the list, as time goes
on, I just seem to get faster and
better at it. AG)
Sorry for the late response but I loved your paper you printed
for
us to read, it doesn't make me feel so alone !!!!.
Love to all Yoggers - Denise
