The first memo to the YM Weekend '97 gang went out late
Tuesday night, if there is
anyone who wanted to be on the
update list and isn't drop me a line. What is YM Weekend?
a bunch of George fans converge on
Los Angeles, and
spend their days being tacky tourists and their nights
drinking and Georging. It should be a good party.
AND
AWAY WE GO...

This
is my first attempt at sending a message to you at
Yogmael but I thought you might like to know that I has
an E'Mail from
Aegean last week and they said that at
the moment GM has no plans to tour. Lets hope that he
decides to soon.

I just wanted to reply to David LEBOIS
David,
I'm trying to plan a meeting in London as well but
nobody actually ever answered me. The fact is that I think
it would be
better for every body to do it in the summer
because it is more likely that someone goes there for their
holidays.....don't
you think?
Anyway, I'm leaving Italy on July 8th and from then on I
won't be able to connect to internet or read my mail,
so,
if someone is interested just e-mail me!!!
This is a message for jonathan since my computer do not
deliver my
messages to him (I do not know why...it's
probably because of my server...)Could you please put it
on yogmail so that he can
read iT???????thank you very
much!!!!!
JONATHAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so so much for the addresses!!!!It
has been very
nice of you to waste your time for me!!!!!
Do you live in London? My boyfriend (Jonathan as well!!!!!!)
lives
in Croydon!!!!!I'll be there from July 8th and I'm sure it
wouldn't be bad to Meet someday....don't you think?
Let me know if
you want to organize something!!!!

Hello Camera Crew!
First of all,
Amanda you are doing a terrific job. I look forward
to my daily yog fix. If it weren't for Yogmael and all the input
from
around the world. I wouldn't know what George was up
to these days.
Anyway. I was feeling a bit nostalgic this past
weekend.
After finding your website and seeing your picture of Andrew.
I'm sorry I don't care what anyone says the man is
still sexy.
By the way what else does he do besides surf? Does he
have a job?
(Cruel though this may seem...my brother
Steve suggested
I start Andrew a mailing list called LeechMail. But it's not
really an insult, Andrew is Steve's hero, and
agree's that
Andrew's business cards should read "Luckiest Best Friend
in the World." AG)
But I digress. So I
pull out all of my old video tapes and
start playing them. I came across a tape of the first time
George performed with Stevie
Wonder. It was in May 1985
"Motown salutes the Apollo". The performance was great,
but you could tell he was nervous
and awe struck. He just
sort of stood there and sang like a scared little boy. And all
that hair!!! My what 12 years can
change! At the VH-1
honours George was very confident. I think Mr. Wonder
was the one in awe this time. After seeing all that
old
footage from when George was just coming into his own
as both a performer and a person, I felt this since of pride
well
up in me.
Then I pull out my "Wham! in China" video. Can you believe
all of that hair!! That is all I could say
through out the video.
But, there is a part near the beginning when they are meeting
with the Minister of Culture, and they
say something about a a web address everyone - visit me at
http://members.aol.com/TomWanless
I have 2 pages on
GM, one on Friends (the show) and a
photo of myself, etc. I have checked it for probs and there
are none, I'm sure. Go there
and give me any feedback you
think of. I am pleased with it but am always looking for
constructive criticism!

Dear
Amanda,
I'm just writing to tell you that I worked the recent VH1 show
at the Universal Amphitheater. I got to see GM and
his "date"
Ellen Degeneres. Even later into the show I got shake GM's
hand and tell him I was a huge fan. A definate
"No-No" with
my job to bother performers and guests, but I had to make
an exception. So HA-HA to all you jealous
people.

HEY
YOGGERS!
HOPE EVERYONE IS DOING GREAT. IT'S MY 2ND
TIME WRITING. BEFORE I FORGET, I WANTED TO ASK
YOU, AMANDA, ABOUT YOUR
NO DOUBT ESCAPADE.
DID YOU ALREADY TELL US HOW IT WENT? DID I
TOTALLY READ RIGHT OVER IT?? IF I DID, SORRY. IF
NOT, I WAS
CURIOUS TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED.
(I briefly mentioned it was a great show! And that I managed
to get away with only a few
minor bruises, and a sore throat.
AG)
NOW FOR THE GEORGE CONTENT: JUST WANTED
TO SHARE A STORY TO SEE IF IT SOUNDS
FAMILIAR.
I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A GEORGE/WHAM FAN, SINCE
GRADESCHOOL. I WAS TEASED FOR LIKING HIM,
ESPECIALLY AS I GOT OLDER
(NO PUN INTENDED!)
WHEN I WOULD MENTION HIM, OR POP A CD OR TAPE
IN, PEOPLE WOULD MAKE FACES, COMMENTS, OR
POP THE TAPE/CD
OUT. I DIDN'T CARE. IT WAS
GEORGE! YOU DON'T DO THAT TO GEORGE! (I WOULD
SAY IT LIKE THE GUY WAS ACTUALLY IN OUR
PRESENCE
AND THAT THEY WERE HURTING HIS
FEELINGS!)
(Who says he's not? AG)
IF THEY DIDN'T LIKE IT, THEY COULD GO SOMEWHERE
ELSE!
WHEN
I WAS A SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL, HE WAS
DOING HIS COVER TO COVER TOUR. NOW, ALL OF MY
REAL FRIENDS WANTED TO GO. I HAD BEEN
PRACTICING
THE ART OF WAKING UP EARLY AND STANDING IN LINE
FOR TICKETS SINCE 8TH GRADE (BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN-
TUNNEL OF LOVE
TOUR STARTED IT ALL...). MY FOUR
FRIENDS AND I WENT AND GOT THE WRISTBANDS, AND
TO MAKE A REALLY LONG STORY A LITTLE SHORTER,
MY
FRIEND, STEPHANIE, WAS FIRST IN LINE!!!!!!!
YYYYYEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WE ENDED UP GETTING FIFTH ROW ON
THE FLOOR!
NOT TOO SHABBY FOR SELF-OBTAINERS! (NOT GOING
THRU AN AGENT, WHO USUALLY GETS THE BEST SEATS).
THE SHOW WAS
FABULOUS!!! THE PEOPLE BEHIND US
WERE A LITTLE ANNOYED AT OUR OBNOXIOUS
SCREAMING BEHAVIOR, SO THEY TRIED TO LIGHT MY
AND
MY FRIEND'S HAIR ON FIRE! GEORGE IS WORTH IT!!!
(THEY DIDN'T SUCCEED, THANK GOD!) WE WERE
WONDERING WHY THE HELL THEY WERE
THERE IN THE
FIRST PLACE--THEY WEREN'T EVEN MOVING AROUND/
DANCING, LET ALONE SINGING ALONG! THEY MUST
HAVE BEEN BRAIN DEAD
OR SOMETHING.
TO THIS DAY, I STILL GO 'OH, IT'S GEORGE!!!!' WHEN
ANYTHING YOG/WHAM COMES ON THE RADIO. PEOPLE,
LIKE MY MOM,
USUALLY SAY, "GEEZ, JEN, YOU HAVE
ONLY HEARD THIS SONG LIKE A MILLION TIMES!" YEAH,
SO WHAT. IT'S STILL GEORGE! (HAS
ANYONE ELSE HAD
THIS HAPPEN?)
ONE MORE THING: I NOTICED TODAY THAT A GIRL
DISTINGUISHED HERSELF AS 'JenM' BECAUSE THERE IS
ANOTHER
'JEN'. WOULD I BE 'JEN-something else' OR AM
I THAT 'JEN' SHE WAS TALKING ABOUT? ACTUALLY,
TECHNICALLY, I COULD BE 'JenM',
TOO! NOT LIKE ALL OF
YOU YM'ERS CARE, BUT I WAS JUST CURIOUS. OKAY,
THAT'S ENOUGH.
HOPE TO SEE LOTS OF YOU AT THE YOG
WEEKEND
HERE IN CALIFORNIA! I THINK AMANDA IS WORKING ON
THE DETAILS, RIGHT AMANDA? MAY 15 WITH INFO??
(That was the
plan, it fell through...try June 1st. AG)
<
I'am New here. My name is Richard Hagebeuk (21 years old,
the
netherlands, mael student, starting FAN of George Michael).
The question I have is simple I suppose : What is the ASCII
code
of the AE in YOGMÆL!!!(I made a copy with CTRL
C/CTRL V bud that isn't the solution!) Maybe someone can
help me!
(ALT
0198 for a PC. AG)
I also like to recieve personalmail from other FANS. So I can
chat a bit! If you are interested , just
mail me !!!
Thanx,
Richard Hagebeuk.

Hi
Amanda,
A while back you mentioned that it would be a good idea
for someone in the UK to set up sending cds & books etc
abroad
for those who can't them. If anyone wants me to
do this for just a little extra then let me know.
Best wishes

Hello all!
I just wanted to point
out something I noticed while watching
4 straight hours of George videos last night. First off, Andrew
was looking extremely
fine while in uniform in the video for
"Club Tropicana" (and of course George was too!), but did
anyone also notice
that in that video George shaved his chest
hair? I guess it really must have bothered him!!
(Actually, he just plain didn't
have a whole hell of a lot yet...
AG)
Also, I have a funny story. A couple of issues ago in
Entertainment Weekly they
made a comment about
DreamWorks and how they must be disappointed that their
hopeful star George had fallen off the charts.
Well as of that
week, Star People happened to be #1 on the Billboard dance
charts, so I promptly E-mailed EW to tell them
that, and that
I wouldn't exactly consider a #1 dance hit a disappointment.
Well, my best friend works for EW and her friend
is the one
that reads all the letters and E-mail to the editors. Just by
chance, the girl showed my best friend my post and
said,
"this reader must be really upset and a big George Michael
fan" and my friend immediately thoght of me and
looked at
the name on the post, and sure enough it was me, so she
told the girl about my obsession with George, and the girl
said
they were going to have to be more careful about the
stuff they write about George!!! I just thought that was kind
of
funny......
POST SCRIPT: In the most recent issue of EW, they noted
it -- that he was just #1 on Billboard -- and made a
correction!!
So I was heard!
(WAY TO GO!!!! AG)
Talk to ya all later...

On the radio here in Sydney
about 3 months ago you could ring
in and tell people about your brush with fame. I rang 5 times to
tell them about me and
George & Andy (not that many people
would remember Andy) but obviously they werent interested
enough. Anyway one girl
proceeded to tell us about the time
she found this girl in Kings Cross (red light district in Sydney)
crying and was lost.
Anyway she told the girl where her hotel
was and walked her down to it. The girl was Donya Fiorentio.
Donya took her up to her
hotel suite and had lunch with PreOrders on a new George Michael
CD from the UK. It is a Duet w/Tony Burke. The title is
Waltz
Away Dreaming. The release date is May 26th.
The Price is 9.99 plus shipping. Thanks!

Hi
Amanda and everyone else out there with impeccable taste
in music,
I was just reading through the last issue of YM and
noticed that
yet another person mentioned becoming a GM fan at the age of
12. Being that I am also one of those people, I find
it interesting
that that is the age people seem to initially get hooked on George.
Just a fun observation that I thought I'd
share.
(I got hooked at age 10, but my thanks for coming up with a
question for the forthcoming demographics survey! Watch
for
a questionaire to be in your mail box this weekend. AG)
