Hi gang. I toiled at the computer for hours using the new priority
post rules. In
the process of running up 7 issues of YM, I
compiled two issues worth of further confessions of Yogaholics
as contributed by a
number of the camera crew. Look for them
as YM #'s 160 and 165.
AND AWAY WE GO...

Hi Amanda,
I recieved an email a few days ago from Shirlie Kemp
via AEgean.
It seems that "Waltz Away Dreaming" will be released on the 26th
of May in the UK, this is however a
bank holiday!?!
I have however no information regarding "Trojan Souls", it would
appear that GM is "very
hands on with AEgean" - I assume this to
mean that GM is concentrating on the Toby Bourke and Jo projects.
Could
anyone with information pertaining to the Trojan Souls project
contact me, the last that I had was that it was to be released mid
way
through the legal battle on Parlourphone(?) Records.
Hope this is of use.

The single CD Star People finally showed up on the shelves
in one
of the music stores. First one that I have ever seen. I guess you
could say we here in Michigan live in the "out
back", and they even
have to pump light to us here. Agree with you that North America
is hurting when it comes to GOOD
music. It is either late getting
here, or never arrives.
My Compaq computer has a sound blaster system in it, so can
listen
to GM while I read my Yogmael, or do correspondence.
Like what you are doing - keep it up.

Dear Amanda,
First
of all please let me do congratulate you on this interesting
newsgroup you have put together. Thanks indeed to it that I found
out
about the unfortunate passing of the late Mrs. Lesley
Panayiotou, George Michael's mother.
It is with profound regrets that
I extend on my own behalf and his
legions of dedicated fans in Guyana, Trinidad and Barbados our
deepest condolence on his
recent bereavement. To the family of the
bereaved we ask God's strength and help as you mourn this tragic
loss and may the
venerable George Michael find realized that George Michael was indeed the heart & soul of Wham!
My memorable days as an
adolescent were spent listening and jiving
to his music but I have never been fortunate to attend his concerts.
I am
extremely desirious of assisting his management to ensure
George Michael does come down soon enough on a combined
concert tour
of Barbados, Trinidad and Guyana. I am certain that
George would enjoy the warm friendly faces of our beautiful islands
in
the sun as well as visiting Guyanese born reggae superstar -
Eddie Grant who also lives in Barbados where he owns and
operates
the Blue Wave Recording Studios.
Looking forward to hearing from you or the folks over at Aegean
Records in London,
England.
Thank you,
Mike Singh

Dear Amanda!
I´m writing to tell you
that I have just read Yogmael no. 150 and am
absolutely outraged! Someone - I forget who - wrote you a letter to
say that
Yogmael was not serious enough and "could you please
take me off this site!". What a complete loser. The letter was
100%
condescending and complained that the topics discussed are not
"mature" enough. What the hell does that someone
expect???? A
philosophical debate on whether GM believes in the big bang-theory
or Plato´s concept of beauty?? George Michael
writes excellent
music, sings it beautifully and is in my eyes a true artist. But what
is a"mature" discussion on
him and his music? Furthermore I find
it almost rude to imply that the topics dealt with in your Yogmaels
are of no interest.
You yourself and all of the Yogmaelers seem to
be very dedicated people who feel quite stronly about GM and his
music. I´ve
been a GM-fan for 12 years now and although I´m over
the obsessive clippings-and-stickers-collecting-phase, I´m still
very
much into the man and his music. It makes me sick when
eople try to "intellectualize" George in a way that leaves no
room
for all the fun that goes with reading e.g. your latest Yogmael. Good
job, Amanda - and let no one tell you otherwise!!!
Phew..., to think
that this would be my first contribution to Yogmael :=)
Love Katja (Denmark)
PS: Although I must sound
like a mad dog barking, I´m actually a
nice person :=)
(I'm sure you are. I hope you sent a copy of this to the defector
as
well... AG)

dear
Amanda,
Thanks again for these awesome updates. This is only my second
time writing, and i would like to say i have learned
so much i never
knew i never knew about George. I also found some great pen pals
to e-mail.
Also, what is this about No
Doubt. I hate to say this, but i hate
them. Maybe it's only my jealousy, but I'm also in love with Gwen's
boyfriend. Let me
say, his was the worst mosh pit I ever did enter,
and there have been many others.
(My friend Michelle hates Gwen for the
same reason... AG)
But, I would just like to say thank you a million times, because I
love this sooo much. Almost as much
as I love George. Also, the
confessions of a yogaholic were great, I am the same way. Being
only seventeen, this part of my
life doesn't exactly fit in with my
friends, as I am constantly explaining my "little" obsession.
love always,tougher
to fing GM's stuff here. My mail is
mesquita-at-correionet.com.br and I'd like to ask how is GM
singing Desafinado at Red
Hot+Rio (I still haven't heard it!
SHAME ON ME!) BTW, Amanda, you're doing a great job, and
I tought your Yogaholism paper was
really great.
Thanks,
Adriana

Hello!!
This
is only the second time that I've posted to Yogmael, but I
read every issue! I think Star People is awesome! It's getting
a
lot of play here in York,Pa. It's becoming a frequently
requested song.
Amanda you are doing such a great job with this
George
newsgroup!! I always look forward to signing on AOL and
reading the latest news about George.
(Nice to know
someone in the states can actually get onto
AOL... AG)
The main reason why I wrote was to ask a very important
question....
I was in Circuit City a few days ago and I came
across a few George Michael import singles....
1) Older LP (Made In
England)
2) Star People maxi single (England)
3) Jesus To A Child (England)
4) Fastlove maxi (England
The Fastlove
had four songs on it,
1) Fastlove LP
2) I'm Your Man
3) Fastlove (Summer)
4) Fastlove (Full)
So what exactly is
the Full version of Fastlove?
Is that the one that starts out " In the abscence of security"?
(It's 9 mintues
long, contains the bulk of I'm Your Man'96, and the
legendary-watch-the-dance-floor-go-nuts-and-several-hundred-
people-chant
"Everybody needs a little FastLove." AG)
Thanks for your help
Scotty
** Does anyone have the guitar
tablature for Fastlove?

Hey!
Yog Fans!
Amanda, you are doing a great job. I look forward to reading the
latest on Yog every chance I get.
I saw in
YOGMAEL #142 someone was asking about the Muscle
Shoals/Wexler version of Careless Whisper. I would also like
more info on it.
The only info I have is from a 1995 Wham! book. It
said "'Careless Whisper' was first recorded at Muscle Shoals
Studio in
Alabama, but George was unhappy with the results. He
scrapped that version and re-recorded the single in London." I am
curious
because I only live an hour away from Muscle Shoals. I
know there is a studio up there but I don't know much about it. It
would
be cool to know that one of George's best songs was first
recorded only an hour away from me.
(Take heart in knowing it
was. AG)
Take care,
Melissa

When
will people let GM's sexual life be private as it should be??!!
Frankly, I'm appalled! This comes in reply to a certain
"Kimberly
Joette Kubiak" who emailed Yogmael a couple of days ago in
YM#153...HIV Positive???!! Where do you get
off??? And worse,
even if it were so, how would that concern the world at large??!
If George decided to be evasive about
his own sexuality, it was
perhaps for these same reasons...How does that PRIVATE matter
concern anyone but the parties
involved, someone please tell me!!
Piss off already with this subject you bleeding Sods!!! How would
YOU like an intrusion
on your intimate life? I mean, it's not
because GM's a public figure that we must know ALL there is to
know about him. The
man, like all of us, has the right to SOME
privacy, has he not? I find this subject outrageous and the HIV
bit, attempted by
Ms. Kimberly Kubiak in the last Yogmael was
simply TOO MUCH!!
What's to make of "Is he/isn't he Gay?" - Why not
leave that alone,
already?! Eit TAG="BODY" startspan -->
