YOU'VE GOT YOGMAEL!!!

Hi, sending this early since I am deeply embroiled in a 10 page essay
titled "Confessions of a Yogaholic: Secrets of an Obsessed Fan" for
my deviant behaviour class. Sometimes, university can be fun...

Canadians: MuchMusic is running the Brit Awards Thurday night.

AND AWAY WE GO...

Hi Amanda and all you fellow yoggers.

I'm still in shock, I don't even know what to say -
"... words are useless ... how can they explain how I feel ..."
( Madonna ). Actually the only thing that comes to my mind is
one girl I know: she came to Israel with her mom and grandparents,
and year ago her mom has died from cancer. And now she's
completely alone ( no brothers or sisters ) in a strange country. I moved
to Israel too but I have family and she's TOTALLY alone, cos you know
your relationship with parents is different from this with grandparents.
And I don't know how to help her, what to say to her. I wanted to ask for
help from those who has lost their close friends or relatives to help me
and her with it. Also if anyone wouldn't mind writing to her, I think she'd
appreciate it. E me if anyone interested, I could give her one of my emails
I don't use.

Those who're bored by this, sorry. But GM's mom death sort of brought
my mind back to this girl.

Byby.
Eugenia.

To All Fans

I was just looking through my cable TV guide and I found on
TUESDAY 25 MARCH at 10.30am on MTV there is half an
hour entiled GEORGE MICHAEL OLDER. (Isn't 25 March
Elton John's birthday???)

(Yup. AG)

Also on SATURDAY 29 March at 1.00pm there is another half
hour. Can't tell if it's a repeat or not but who cares!!!!

So remember to set those videos..

(IN the UK that is... AG)

Lots of Love

Hey Amanda,

I adore Yog and YOGMAEL but my second addiction is - obviously -
Madonna! Of course, the two should always stick together. In some
old YOGMAIL issue I found a mentioning that you dealt with Madonna
mailing list and you weren't happy with the way they behaved.

(To clarify: when setting up another mailing list for another artist I
adore and admire--who works with Madonna, and is thus mentioned
on Madonna's lists--a friend forwarded me some of the info from the
lists and I was a wee bit shocked at the blatant hostility. A happy
little camera crew they were not...But I will admit that the Madonna
fan in me is more hostile than the George fan, so it must be something
to do with the nature of Madonna fans... "It's all about survival..."? AG)

I just contacted Evita mailing list but it doesn't suit me - there is just
a talk on Eva Peron, not particularly on Madonna. And they usually
use LISTSERV, they don't have you, Amanda. So, I'm asking you to
help me and to mention how can we, Yog lovers, share participation
in Madonna mailing list's editions.

(Though I told you this a couple weeks ago--well actually yesterday--
ahhh, the joys of backlog, here it is again, for the ListServ, drop a line
to <> with the line "subscribe madonna"
somewhere in the body of the message. To get on the digest (which
isn't interactive, similar to YM) you send a message to:
<> with the line "subscribe
madonna-digest" in the body of the message. Thanks to Jim for the
info. AG)

Hi Delina.
I'm Sanae from Japan. Almost all foreign CDs in Japan have lyrics and
the translation on the jacket, though they are not always accurate!

Here are the lyrics of "Last Christmas".

Last Christmas
I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year
To save me from tears
I'll give it to someone special

Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance
But you still catch my eye
Tell me baby
Do you recognise me?
Well it's been a year
It doesn't surprise me
(Happy Christmas)
I wrapped it up and send it
With a note saying "I love you"
I meant it
Now I know what a fool I've been
But if you kissed me now
I know you'd fool me again

A crowded room
Friends with tired eyes
I'm hiding from you and your soul of ice
My God I thought you were
Someone to rely on
Me?
I guess I was a shoulder to cry on

A face on a lover
with a fire in his heart
A man under cover
but you tore me apart
Now I've found a real love
you'll never fool me again

Maybe next year
I'll give it to someone special

(Seems pretty accurate to me. AG)

Dear Amanda,
I'm from Holland, so forgive me if my English is not that good. I've
been added to the list since a couple of days now, and I really enjoy
reading from all those "soulmates". I used to think that I was the
only one who liked George Michael that much, many people in the
past made fun at me for being a George Michael fan. Those days are
over!. The number of people who like his music are increasing day by
day now. I first discovered Rose Wagners site and now I read all those
comments from all those fans. It's amazing. Is it true that I'm the only
Dutch adress on your list. I 'm sure there must be more fans, shame
on them because you're doing a really fine job and I guess, like all
voluntary jobs, it's taking a lot of your spare time. Thank you!

(You are not the only Dutch address, the "Euro" address lists boast
a handful. AG)

Today is my grandmothers birthday, she died three years ago of
cancer, it was an unbeatable fight and, because I lived with her for so
long, it was just as I a Colombia.

Liliana Murcia/Bogotá-Colombia.

(OK, might I just say estoy perdida. Translation from a Spanish
speaking YM'er would be most appreciated. My command of
Spanish runs about the extent of Madonna's Blond Ambition
concert in Barcelona, and I have no ambition to discuss such
matters publicly... AG)

The post in #115 from Chassagne was right along the lines I was
thinking about Older and how now we know what he knew when he
was making the album and writing the songs. I keep listening to You
Have Been Loved and feel he wrote that to his mother. The wonderful
thing about this newsletter is finding out how many other people think
like I do and express my feelings better than I ever could. Just like
George's music = I relate in some way to every song. Was thinking
about some of the dumb and fun things I've done in my life and how I
never never never wanted my family to find out about them and how
horrible it would be to be famous and have everything you do written
up. What a damn burden and what a price to pay! See ya Carolyn

Hi everyone,

Recently I was looking at a bookstore on Internet, and the store had
listed a book by George titled, "George Michael; In His Own Words"
and I was wondering if anyone had read this and what they thought
about it. I have his book "Bare", but not this one.

I was also looking at the website for EQS music and saw a cd titled
Heal the Pain? I've also never heard of this cd, can someone tell me
more about it?

Thanks.

Hey guys...
Firstly, I want to point out that you all missed a couple vids in that
list the other day. "Wrap Her Up" with Elton John, and the extended
video of "I'm Your Man" from the "WHAM! 1985" VHS cassette UK.
Those were the only ones I notice that were left out.
Next...come visit my GM/WHAM! page which is still being put
together but will have all kinds of things when I am done...including
the lyrics to every song George has done, and a list of every version
of every song and where you can get them. The addy is:
http://www.celeritysystems.com/~lion99/gm/
Lastly...I have some good news that I tried to post before and couldn't
due to the change in the YM address which I didn't notice.
As you old-timers might remember and you newcomers prob don't...as
I was posting for a while...I am a songwriter...influenced by the one and
only. *grin* At any rate, I wouldn't be writing music at all if it wasn't
for
George.
About two weeks ago I received a letter from Hill Top Records in
Hollywood, and they are interested in my music! Later on, I spoke with
someone with Sony, and they too are interested. Anyway, I had to
share this with you guys. And, I wanted to thank George...I wouldn't
be at this point musically without him...he was what may me think, "I
want to do that..." from the moment I heard the first GM song I ever
knew..."A Different Corner".

(Wow, to think, we'll be able to say "We knew him when..." Good luck
my friend, and remember, if ever you need an escort for the Grammy's,
I'm there. AG)

Anyway, keep up the outstanding work Amanda...and take care you
guys.
